Along with RAPRD we are launching a holistic aquatic health and fitness program, the first of its kind in Redmond. The water is an environment with unique benefits and aquatic exercise is outstandingly versatile and inclusive. Utilizing the latest in exercise to the needs of our community. In collaboration with local health benefits that aquatic activities provide available to the entire community. Whether you are looking for a low-impact cardiovascular workout, improved flexibility, balance and movement, post-op recovery, stress relief or just great whole body workout, aquatic fitness is ideal. Have you been interested in trying aquatic aerobics but want to know more? Are you starting a new fitness regimen and want to know what aquatic wellness program best suits your needs? Bring your suit, towel and questions to the pool for one of our Introduction to Aquatic Wellness Days and learn more about your options. Our qualified staff will be on hand to answer questions and help you pick the programs that are right for you.
Hydro-Power | All Core All the Time | Sugar: Sweet Addiction
Hydro-Power | Ages 16 & UP| Saturday, January 21st | 10:00am-1:00pm - Strength training in the pool. Learn techniques of muscular strength and endurance training utilizing the amazing environment of the pool. Utilizing water and land equipment you can develop a strength based program in the pool that will be an enhancing alternative to your land based strength training program or it just may be everything you need! A $5.00 refund will be applied to your account when you attend class.
All Core All the Time | Ages 16 & UP | Saturday, February 19th | 10:00am-1:00pm - Learn about the core, its physiology and importance. This class is designed for the people who want to understand more about why "the core" is so important. Learning to train this area more effectively will support better posture, improve balance and possibly lessen pain. The seminar will utilize Pilates based techniques for strengthening core on land and in the water. A $5.00 refund will be applied to your account when you attend class.
Sugar: Sweet Addiction | Ages 12 & UP | Saturday, January 7th | 11:00am-12:30pm - Do you crave sweets? Soft drinks? If you have ever tried to cut back on sugar but were unsuccessful, this course will help you put this target in focus. Learn what sugar is, why we crave it and how to gain control without feeling deprived. Taught by Holistic Health Coach Kristal Cozine, this is a good opportunity to arm yourself with the knowledge to obtain your goals. A $5.00 refund will be applied to your account when you attend class.
Wellness Connection - All Ages - As part of RAPRD's new Aquatic Wellness Program, all new members are offered complimentary Wellness Connection with the Aquatics Wellness Coordinator. A Wellness Connection may include a review of exercise and health history, blood pressure and heart rate, exploration of your exercise needs and goals. If so and with approval from your physician is obtained, a brief assessment may be conducted to assist in measuring improvements and helping you choose the programs at the Cascade Aquatic Center that will fit your needs.
POOLates In the Pool | Ages 16 & UP | Friday, April 7th | 6:40-8:40pm - Effective and challenging, POOLates yis soothing to the mind, spirit and gentler on joints and muscles than land-based exercises. POOLates innovatively uses the buoyancy, resistance and gentle movement of water to strengthen muscles, enhance flexibility and posture, sharpen coordination and balance and relax body and soul. POOLates - the perfect marriage of the principles of Pilates with all the benefits of aquatic exercise. Join the creator of POOLates Lisa Gibson, for a preview of this wonderful fitness option in the pool that Cascade Swim Center will be adding to our programming.
POOLates Private Practice | Ages 16 & UP | Saturday, April 29th | 10:00am-1:00pm - Love Pilates on land? You will really love our addition of POOLates into our regularly scheduled aquatics classes. Effective and challenging, POOLates is soothing to the mind, spirit and gentle on joints and muscles than land-based exercises. POOLates innovatively uses the buoyancy, resistance and gentle movement uses the buoyancy, resistance and gentle movement of water to strengthen muscles, enhance flexibility and posture, sharpen coordination and balance and relax body and soul. POOLates is the perfect marriage of the principles of Pilates with all the benefits of aquatic exercise. Learn the basics of Pilates theory and exercises that you can practice on your own during therapy times or to enhance your class experience.
Instructor Training | Saturday, April 8th, 8:00am-5:00pm | Sunday, April 9th, 9:00am-1:00pm - You're probably familiar with the principles of the Pilates method: centering, Precision, fluidity, breathing and concentration, combined into a mind-body program to strengthen the power house while increasing flexibility and sharpening stability, coordination and posture.
