Pool lanes are designated to match each swimmer’s
individual pace. Kickboards, pull buoys, swim fins, dumb
bells and aqua-joggers are available for use during lap
swims at no additional charge, just ask the lifeguard on
duty. A portion of the pool may be used for other
activities during lap swims. Remember to be considerate
and share lanes. When three or more swimmers are lap
swimming, all swimmers in the lane must circle swim
according to ability (speed). To “circle swim,” swim
down one side of the lane and back on the other.
When we work together, lap swimming will be a pleasant experience for all. Here are a few tips that will allow your swimming experience to be more enjoyable.
During the noon hour lap
swim 2 lanes are set aside for physical therapy and
water walking.
These are very popular programs and are specific
to the noon hour lap swim time only.
If you would like to use the pool during an
alternative lap swim time for water walking or therapy
the space may be limited and occasionally unavailable.
Are you interested in coming to the swimming pool, but concerned about negotiating the ladder or transferring from a wheelchair? The pool at the Cascade Swim Center is equipped with portable stairs, as well as a mechanical life. Our staff has been trained to aid all individuals who need assistance. Come in and enjoy the facilities, the water is great!
Our Aquatic staff of American Red Cross Certified lifeguards
strive to maintain the highest standards in emergency
training!
Our goal is to provide our patrons with a safe, clean
atmosphere in which families can enjoy themselves in a
recreational environment.
The purpose of the aquatic staff is not to
supervise your child, but to prevent accidents from
happening.
Therefore, parents are expected to closely supervise
their children and assist in enforcing the policies for
safety and enjoyment of all patrons.
All children below 42” in height or 6 years and
under must be accompanied and supervised at all times by
a paying adult (16 years or older).
Cascade Swim Center or
RAPRD is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
We strongly recommend that you secure your
belongings in a locked locker or take them with you.
Bring your own lock or $.25 for a locker.
Periodically, here at Cascade Swim Center, we run life
saving drills to sharpen our lifeguarding skills so that
we are best prepared in the event of an emergency.
The Red Cap Drill is one of those life saving
drills that you, as a patron, may witness.
If you are here during a drill you may experience
a whistle blast, a guard entering the water and some
mock care being given to a prearranged accident
“victim”. We
will post notice, at the front desk that a drill week is
in process so that you are aware that lifeguard practice
may be possible anytime during that particular week.
